I am the 6th-8th grade Functional Skills/Autism teacher at SAMS. This is my 5th year teaching and my 1st year teaching teaching at SAMS and teaching Functional Skill. For the past 4 years, I was an Inclusion EC teacher.
I moved to Asheboro in January 2014 to start my teaching career. I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in Education from Baldwin Wallace University; located in Berea, Ohio. I have my teaching licenses in General Education K-5 and Mild/Moderate Educational Needs K-12, and Severe/Profound Educational Needs K-12.
In the past, I co-taught Middle School English Language Arts and Mathematics. As the EC Teacher, it was my responsibility to provide instructional support for all students in the Inclusion environment.
I have also served on several committees, including PBIS and RtI. This year, I am serving on the Special Olympics Committee. I also had the honor of serving as the Head Coach of the Girls Soccer team at my previous school. I currently serve as the Co-Athletic Director, responsible for purchase orders, concessions, and Softball/Basketball/Track. I also served as an advisor for many clubs in the past, including Woof Gang and Student Council.
My hobbies include going on outdoor adventures and hammocking with Zeus (my dog), playing and coaching soccer, painting canvases, and tie dying. I love to travel to new places and try new things to eat.
I am very excited to be working at SAMS and I hope that it will be an amazing year. You can contact me by email, firstname.lastname@example.org, or by calling SAMS, (336) 629-4141. Please call the front office and leave me a detailed voicemail if I am not available.
